We proudly present you Saz’iso!
Produced by the legendary Joe Boyd (Pink Floyd, Fairport Convention, Nick Drake. R.E.M.) and recorded by Grammy winning engineer Jerry Boys (Buena Vista Social Club) this is a beautifully conceived collection. Saz’iso – an eight musician ensemble from the isolated mountain regions of Southern Albania – create haunting sounds and songs that navigate a rich and varied musical tradition. While there are traces of more well-known Balkan idioms in their repertoire, encountering the powerful moods of this earthy, long-hidden music is a revelation of sorts. Gorgeous, spirited and deeply moving.
